Individual Counseling & Psychotherapy

Understand Yourself More Deeply, Heal Old Wounds, and Live a More Fulfilling, Authentic Life

Whether you’re struggling with persistent anxiety – the racing thoughts or constant ruminations that keep you up at night, the ever-present sense of unease, or the incessant “what if” scenarios you just can’t seem to turn off …

You’re weighed down by depression, feeling emotionally flat, unmotivated, or hopeless, even when you’re doing everything you can to pull yourself out of it …

You’re trying to cope with the invisible wounds of a painful past that continues to affect your present and is contributing to your anxiety or depression …

Or you’re grieving a loss that’s left you feeling untethered and raw, navigating relationship issues that you feel unable to understand or resolve, or you’re in the middle of a major life transition that’s causing you to question who you are and what matters most …

I understand what you’re going through. You don’t have to go through it alone.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, stuck, adrift, or are longing for deeper fulfillment, connection, and purpose, but unsure how to move forward, counseling and psychotherapy offer a unique, supportive space in which you can understand yourself more deeply, and work through the issues that are holding you back from living your life to the fullest.

How Individual Counseling & Psychotherapy Can Help

Unlike confiding in family members, venting to a friend, or trying to “just push through the pain” on your own, therapy provides an intentional, focused process that’s specifically designed to facilitate your healing and growth.

I’m here to help you:

  • Understand the root causes of whatever issues or distress you’re experiencing
  • Develop healthier ways of managing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, and life transitions
  • Improve your relationships and communication patterns
  • Explore painful or confusing life events in a safe, compassionate space
  • Increase your self-awareness, self-acceptance, and resilience
  • Create the relationships and life you truly love

Counseling and therapy are not about “fixing” you – because you’re not broken.

This work is about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been buried, hurt, or overlooked, and empowering you to live a more authentic, fulfilling life.

Am I the Best Psychologist or Therapist for You?

As a licensed psychologist serving North Dallas, University Park, and the surrounding areas, I primarily work with individual adults from an insight-oriented, psychodynamic perspective.

This means we’ll work together to help you develop a curiosity about yourself and explore the unconscious thoughts, feelings, and relational patterns that shape your experiences – often in ways you may not even realize.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy involves:

  • Exploring the recurring patterns of thought and behavior that are causing distress in your relationships and emotional life
  • Understanding the origins of those patterns
  • Creating meaningful change in areas that used to feel frustrating or out of control

And since all emotional wounds, and all healing and growth, take place in the context of relationship, psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on the therapeutic relationship itself as a space for trust, learning, and transformation.

Unlike brief, solution-focused therapies, psychodynamic psychotherapy invites you to go beneath the surface – to understand not just what you’re feeling, but why you’’re feeling it.

By making unconscious patterns conscious, we create space for meaningful, lasting change.

Many of the individuals I work with have found psychodynamic therapy has helped them break free from patterns that have kept them stuck for years – or even decades.

This being said, making changes to deeply entrenched narratives or behaviors can be hard work. This is why I draw on a variety of approaches – including mindfulness and skill-building exercises – to meet you and help you where you are and work through whatever you’re experiencing in the moment.

With over 14 years of experience helping individual adults navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions, I bring warmth, curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey to my work, as well as a belief in your capacity to heal and grow.

Of course, the only way to know whether I’m the right or best therapist for you is to contact me, share your story, and discover whether we’re a good fit for working together.

Since you’re reading this, you’ve already taken the first – and often the hardest – step: acknowledging that you can use some help.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’m here to walk alongside you.

Contact me today, schedule a free initial phone consultation. Together, we can create a space where you can share your story without fear of judgment, begin untangling the patterns that have been holding you back, understand yourself on a deeper level, and start building a more meaningful, authentic life.
